Where It All Began

Crazy God Story Loading!

Adam Willard, the idea man behind Excavator Adam, slept in one Saturday. His usual wake-up time is somewhere between 4 and 5 a.m. So, when his wife Lisa saw the time was past 7 a.m., she went into their bedroom and did the finger-under-the-nose test to make sure her hubby was still breathing. He was, thank goodness, so she let him rest.

Around 9 a.m., Adam excitedly entered the living room with the biggest smile and the sleepiest head of hair.
“You’ll never believe where I just was,” he said. “We were sitting in a boardroom pitching a cartoon idea called Excavator Adam to Chip and Joanna Gaines. They loved it! We immediately started brainstorming and even began developing toys for kids right then and there.”

Lisa, taking in this dream, asked, “What if we start with children’s books and build on it from there?”

Since she was a little girl, Lisa had loved writing and drawing children’s books. This was right up her creative alley. She was all in.

Side note: Adam’s construction friends had recently begun calling him Excavator Adam after he and Lisa filmed him working on his excavator. The name stuck and sparked something the two grew really excited about.

The first book, Mistakes Are Okay, was written while on a road trip. For some reason, the best ideas always seem to come to these two on the road.

Since then, the ideas keep coming .

But they aren't stopping at just Excavator Adam series of books, oh no.

They created Mighty Lamb Bookstore, their publishing company, for the sole purpose of providing even more book series. All which will inspire young readers with Godly, heartfelt, stories of encouragement, motivation, and love.
